Started singing at 5 years old. Listened to classical, symphony, rhythm and blues, jazz, gospel, and soul music as a child.
At 7 years of age, trained as a classical pianist with Josie Roberts, a retired Bethune Cookman University music professor.
From ages 7 to 13 learned to play the bass guitar, lead guitar, rhythm guitar, drums, French horn, and percussion.
Around age 14 started as a backup musician for various night club acts in Miami, Florida.
My first professional recording was done at T. K. productions in Miami, home of Timmy Thomas, K. C. & the Sunshine Band, and Betty Wright in the 1970’s.
My first professional concert appearance was with Earth, Wind, & Fire in Miami in the 1970’s. Since then has appeared with War, Mtume, the late Phyllis Hyman, Stevie B, Shirley Brown and John Edwards of the Spinners.
Have recorded professionally at Sunshine Sound, owned by the Sunshine Band, Criteria Recording Studio, Crystal Sound and Entertainment, Taft Building in Hollywood, CA. Also recorded with Gong Sound Studios, Ikus Records, as well as owned two studios myself.
Have written music for Howard Johnson of Niteflight, Stevie B, Jimmy Bo Horn, GreyBoy of Ubiquity Records, De La Soul, RZA of Wu Tang Clan and myself.
Currently have three songs playing in 20 countries around the world for which I am receiving royalties, and have been for 20 years.
Have appeared on radio and TV programs.
Currently organizing a music variety stage show featuring the favorite hits from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s.
